PV-E Crane´s emission-free electric crane

PV-E Crane offers the emission-free electric crawler crane in two versions; the EC series with lattice boom or the ECT series with telescopic boom.

The electric powered telescopic crane will be available with lifting capacities of up to 70, 80 and 120 tonnes, while the EC series with lattice boom will be available in 80, 90, 135 or 160 tonne models. A 250-tonne electric crane with lattice boom is still in the development phase.

What is unique about our concept is the option for a exchangeable 130kWh battery, which can be recharged in 3 hours on 63A building site power. The PV-E electric crane is just as practical as a conventional crane, but it is quieter, cleaner and cheaper to operate.

Electric motor powers the hydraulics

The electric crawler cranes are equipped with a 150kW or 200 kW electric motor instead of the traditional diesel engine. The motor powers the hydraulics just as on a conventional hydraulic crawler crane. The electric motor gets the power from two 130 kWh LiFePO4 battery packs, so the battery capacity is 260 kWh in total, corresponding to 8 hours of operation.

100% battery-powered crawler crane

The two batteries are very efficient and charge at 45 kWh per hour with a typical 63 Amp building site current. This means that it takes less than 3 hours to recharge the 130-kWh battery when it is empty until it is fully charged again. The charger is built-in and onboard the crane, so only a charging cable is needed to connect the batteries to power.

Eexchangeable battery packs o n PV-E cranes

The electric cranes have two battery packs, each of these is 130 kWh, which is enough power for 8 hours of operation. The battery packs can easily be exchanged with extra charged batteries to extend the operating period. In addition, LiFePO4 batteries are 100% maintenance-free and do not need to be refilled with demineralized water, as conventional lead-acid batteries do. They are 100% recyclable as they do not contain toxic acids or heavy metals.

Zero emissions

The electric crawler cranes from PV-E Crane are emission-free. In other words, they do not emit CO2 and NOX exhaust gases.
